Blenheim Palace Wedding Photography: So this was something a little bit different. Lisa and Weizhong had already tied the knot in their current home town of Bedford but didn’t really get the chance that day to have pictures of just the two of them so Lisa came up with the fabulous idea of popping along to Blenheim Palace no less for a wedding photography ‘sequel’. Brilliant.
Now anyone who has been to Blenheim Palace will know that it doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to providing grand backdrops and drop dead gorgeous views. The challenge when photographing at Blenheim is trying to pick where to shoot in the short time available but fortunately I’m pretty familiar with some of the best spots so was able to make sure we got straight to work.
This was actually brilliant fun and it was nice not to have the usual time restraints of a “real” wedding. Here we could play and play we did. We probably spent a couple of hours at the palace before heading off to Bibury, one of the most visited tourist villages in the Cotswolds and where Lisa and Weizhong fancied going for the days final session.
Bibury is very pretty but we had picked a scorcher and the place was heaving! We had to pick and choose our moments in order to make it look like ours for the day but I think we managed it, just. We were also thrilled that the little yellow car that had created such a stir in the Daily Mail not long ago for supposedly ruining tourist’s pictures was there on our day so we couldn’t resist a couple of cheesy shots with it in its full, resplendent glory.
Finally, the “wedding day” without guests was over and what fun it was. I’m really pleased Lisa and Weizhong got to enjoy their day and I was able to help put the final pieces of their wedding jigsaw together.
Here is a small selection from our day…
