Stonehouse Court Hotel wedding photographer: Vicky chose me a couple of months ago to photograph her wedding at Eastington Church and reception at the Stonehouse Court Hotel. Vicky, Joe (her fiance) and I met at our local pub, The Badger (we live minutes from each other as it transpired…) to talk through their wedding day and what type of pictures they’d like taken. Vicky and Joe were very relaxed about things and just wanted some nice, natural shots with plenty of smiles! Importantly, they were both good fun and down to earth and apart from getting some must have shots of “the car” (a beautiful Bentley), I was pretty much given a free reign to do my thing.
On the day, although rain was promised, we really did luck out and apart from a few grey clouds, escaped a downpour! I got to the church nice and early to meet the vicar and get a feel for the location before the guests arrived. Joe was so relaxed when he turned up I was going to ask if I’d got the right day! Although this was a relatively intimate wedding, the friends and family who were there throughout the day were utterly charming and made my day very easy and enjoyable indeed.
Following the church ceremony, we all made our way over to the Stonehouse Court Hotel for drinks and pictures on the delightful lawn. Group shots can be the bug bear of many photographers but I must say I don’t mind them at all and these were particularly effortless as Vicky had done her home work and provided me with a ’rounder upper’ as well as a list! This gave us a little more time to spend getting some really nice pictures in the wonderful grounds before making our way through to the wedding breakfast.
One of the reasons I love shooting weddings is you never quite know what to expect, making them both interesting and exciting. Vicky and Joe were a truly delightful, appreciative and marvellously well suited couple and I genuinely enjoyed seeing their faces when we looked through their finished shots (at The Badger of course) a couple of weeks later.
