Wedding Photography Matara Centre: I’ll say it now…the smart money is on booking your Cotswold wedding for October. Apart from being considerably cheaper (it is, it really is…), the colours are just wonderful and if it does rain, well, what the heck, the Cotswolds in Autumn are simply breath-taking.
Which brings me on to Rosie and Ben’s wedding at the Matara Centre…
A while back, we nearly bought a house from Betty, the brilliant landscape architect who not only designed the Matara Centre gardens but also still plays an active role there in keeping them looking like they do – colourful; wild yet contained; uniquely tranquil. Although we never did quite get to buying Betty’s house, it is always a pleasure bumping in to her on wedding day and getting any tips on what’s new to keep me on my toes.
There is a great pub just opposite the Matara Centre called Hunters Hall and this is where I first met Rosie and Ben, roughly a year ago. I remember grabbing a quick coffee with them before taking them on a guided tour of the Matara, pointing out some of the less obvious – but equally pretty – nooks and crannies I’d tried and tested and knew worked really well (just so long as you didn’t mind going off piste a little occasionally!).
So here we are on a chilly and wet October morning and after bumping in to Betty for a quick chat, it was off to the honeymoon cottage to start the day with Rosie and the girls. Always love it when the champs is flowing early in the day. Shortly after, Rosie decamped to the main house to use the gorgeous bridal suite for hair, make up and some more fizz. This gave me the chance to catch up with Ben and grab few candid shots of him with friends and family. Wedding day mornings at the Matara Centre are always brilliant fun and such a hive of activity with everyone under one roof, game for a picture or two.
Rosie and Ben’s wedding was of course lovely. They’d wisely opted for a courtyard ceremony and it certainly paid off. The rain had stopped, allowing for the amazing colours in the garden to really enhance the occasion. When it came to whittling down their pictures for this blog I almost didn’t know where to start but I hope the following shots give you a flavour of how special their wedding day was and of course how truly beautiful the Matara Centre is. I hope you enjoy them!
If you are thinking of getting married at the Matara Centre and have not yet booked your wedding photographer then please get in touch – I’d love to help.
