Wotton House Wedding Photography: Well this was fun… When Alex, Dave and I agreed on a date to meet up at their wedding venue – Wotton House – for a relaxing pre wedding session, we certainly didn’t expect to be invaded by martians! It seems that we had chosen the same day as an amateur dramatic society who were filming a (very) low budget science fiction extravaganza that made early Doctor Who episodes look like Avatar. Actually, it was great fun watching all these “aliens” in white suits falling over around us while we wandered around, intrigued, picking off our shots. Luckily, Wotton House has such extensive gardens that we managed to keep out of each others way for most of the session.
This really was a nice afternoon. Alex and Dave were super relaxed and warmed up very quickly and with so many great places to shoot from we just picked them off as we walked about. I always think pre wedding shoots are mainly of benefit to my clients as opposed to me but this was one of those venues where there is so much choice, it was nice for me to be able to decide on four or five key locations we’d use for the wedding so that on the day, we’d just get straight to the action knowing the location’s we’d chosen work. Quality not quantity as they say.
If you are a bride (or groom) reading this and looking for a wedding venue in Surrey, make sure you put Wotton House at the top of your list: stunning ceremony room, beautiful building and awesome gardens make this a perfect and magical place to get married. Alex emailed me few days ago saying she’d loved the shoot, thought the pictures we got were fab and it really helped them both feel so much more confident about being photographed on their wedding day. Always nice to hear. They were a top couple to spend time with and we built a great rapport but Wotton House certainly played it’s part too and I’m really looking forward to returning there next year for the wedding.
Here are a few shots we got from the day and if you look closely you may even spot our alien friends…
