Elmore Court Wedding Photography: I’ve been looking forward to catching up on a number of blogs following a pretty hectic December (Winter is becoming the new Summer…) and what better way to start than with Laura and Marcus’s gorgeous wedding at one of Gloucestershire’s finest – and newest – wedding venues: Elmore Court.
For those not familiar with Elmore Court, it is an imposing 400 year old house which, in the words of the owners, “has had a number of alterations over the years done specifically to entertain, an intention we are faithfully continuing”. And they’re certainly true to their word because it is hard to imagine a more perfect place to get married. Laura and Marcus had also opted to use The Gillyflower for their reception: a unique, contemporary event space built solely out of materials from the Estate. How cool is that? And it is very, very cool.
So on to the day. It was the usual wonderful chaos at the bride’s house – always great to see the champs in full flow before 10 and everyone smiling! Laura’s hair and make-up were done by the brilliant Laura Leigh and as you would expect from one of Cheltenham’s finest stylists, she looked a million dollars. While all of this was going on, Marcus was just across the road at his parents’ house with the lads, hair and make up apparently sorted.
Before long, it was time to jump in the car and head all of 100 yards to the Tivoli Church! Gorgeous light for photography awaited us within and before long I was capturing Laura walking down the aisle with a beaming smile and a very proud father on her arm.
After the ceremony, it was straight off to Elmore Court for drinks, canapés and group shots in the main house before wandering through to The Gillyflower for the wedding breakfast and evening’s celebrations.
As always, it is the couple that makes my job so enjoyable. Marcus and Laura were just great fun to be around yet they also recognised that to get great shots, you’ve got to give a little bit back to the lens and my camera loved them! I’m so pleased we managed to squeeze in the last drops of light from the day to capture them and their little girl in front of the beautiful house. Pictures to treasure forever for sure.
If you are getting married at Elmore Court and yet to choose your wedding photographer then please do get in touch – I’d love to help. In the meantime here is a selection of pictures from this fab wedding day…
